Tyne Tour 2008 Info

Postby andy j » Fri Oct 31, 2008 2:37 pm

It’s all getting a bit exciting as Tyne Tour looms.

Thanks to all you guys that have signed up and also bought t-shirts, sadly the deadline for those have passed but there may be a few available on the weekend. First things first, THERE ARE 4 SPACES LEFT.

These will be given on a first come first serve basis – basically the first people to post £35 with their name, student number and mobile in my letterbox 26 Grimthorpe Street, Headingley. Knock pretty loud and hand it to any of the guys in my house telling them to pass it on to me. My number is 07512 538637 let me know before you head there.

How am I getting there and back?
Check out the club forum/message board at the Tyne Tour Transport list is one of the top topics there. Also be sure to take down the mobile number of your driver which is also posted a couple of posts below the transport list.

What food do I get given?
LUUCC provides a bacon sarnie to you guys both mornings, you have to provide any other food, there is a 24 hour Tesco a minute away from where we camp. When and what do we paddle? We paddle the river Tyne, you will boat either Saturday or Sunday, this info will go up on Friday night of Tyne Tour.

Where will my bags go?
THESE NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE CHAPEL THURSDAY 6th NOV, 7.30-8.45pm. Bags STRICTLY to be no bigger than the torso of a medium recently shaved sheep. It’s only 2 days – pack light else we won’t have space and we wont take your gear. No bags to be taken on the minibus except for small rucksacks. Pack any boating gear separate.

What time do we get back to Leeds on Sunday?
Can’t say exactly it depends how quick people pack up however expect it to be sometime in the late evening.

Do I need ID?
Yes, make sure you bring it as the club we go to on Friday has a strict no ID, no entry policy.

If you have any questions at all, stick them up on the forum and we’ll get back to you promt.

It’s going to be BIG.
