BCU 2* Award

Postby KirstyS » Mon Jan 25, 2016 5:51 pm

If you are interested in getting assessed for your BCU 2* please let me know. It aims to develop fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water. The emphasis is on gaining a breadth of experience, creating the desired movement of the boat and developing an understanding into how the paddle, boat and water interact. The actual assessment can be done on river trips when you are ready.

It's a really good way to make sure your basic paddling skills. Most of you will be able to do a lot of it already but it's a good foundation and brush up on things you may have forgotten. It's all flat water based ans will help you get a good understanding of maneuvering the boat and covers some important theory too! For BCU members it costs £6 and for non members £7

The syllabus can be found here: CLICKY

Having these fundamental skills will really help your confidence on the river. If you are wanting to do this let me know so we can start working on the syllabus in pool sessions. :)
